Advanced Foot & Lower Limb Mechanics

ADVANCED FOOT & LOWER LIMB MECHANICS WORKSHOP

TAKE YOUR PRACTICE TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Building on the foundational skills gained from the Mastering Foot Mechanics Workshop, this advanced training is tailored for therapists seeking to deepen their expertise and integrate comprehensive lower limb mechanics into their practice. This workshop provides advanced assessment and mobilisation techniques, combined with a detailed understanding of foot, tibia, fibula, knee, hip, and pelvis mechanics, offering a transformative approach to functional movement and client care.

Why Take the Advanced Workshop?

The Mastering Foot Mechanics Workshop established the groundwork for assessing and mobilising the foot. The Advanced Foot & Lower Limb Mechanics Workshop extends this knowledge by incorporating:

Fibula & Tibia Mechanics: Understand how the shank (tibia + fibula) moves during gait and learn practical mobilisation techniques to address ankle sprains, knee issues, and hip dysfunction.

Knee Mechanics: Explore the knee’s transverse plane mechanics and its interactions with surrounding joints. • Hip Dynamics: Examine the role of the hip in gait and its influence on the entire lower limb.

Pelvis Integration: Gain insights into how pelvic movement supports lower limb functionality.

Ankle Function: Perform static and dynamic assessments of the ankle to identify its role in overall movement efficiency..

Begin your journey with self-paced online content, building on the foundation established in the Mastering Foot Mechanics Workshop. This flexible pre-learning material allows you to deepen your theoretical understanding at your convenience, setting the stage for a dynamic face-to-face workshop where practical application and advanced movement techniques take centre stage. Explore lower limb mechanics in detail, delving into the theory of the foot, ankle, knee, hip, and pelvis. This workshop emphasises not only their individual roles in gait but also how these structures function cohesively as a dynamic group. Using a three-dimensional approach, you’ll start by assessing static foot positions and progress to analysing complex dynamic movement patterns. These insights will form the basis for crafting targeted interventions to enhance both static alignment and dynamic performance.

Through a three-dimensional exploration of lower limb mechanics, participants will establish a functional movement analysis framework to assess both static and dynamic joint function. This process-driven approach focuses on identifying how each joint is moving, pinpointing the primary driver of dysfunction, and applying targeted treatment strategies to restore optimal performance. The hands-on component will emphasise practical assessments, enabling participants to analyse movement patterns in themselves and others. This approach ensures a deeper understanding of how joint mechanics influence the entire lower limb and provides actionable techniques to improve functionality. Participants will leave with the confidence to immediately integrate this systematic approach into their practice, delivering effective, client-specific interventions.

A key aim is for participants to experience these changes in their own feet and body, gaining the confidence to apply these techniques with clients immediately

In preparation for the workshop, all theory content will be available online to establish a solid foundation. This allows participants to focus fully on the practical elements during the in-person sessions.

WHY ADVANCED FOOT MECHANICS IS DIFFERENT

The Advanced Foot Mechanics Workshop takes a revolutionary approach to client care by focusing on treating the person, not just the condition. It equips therapists to identify what their clients are missing, rather than simply addressing a diagnosis. This course moves beyond symptoms to uncover the root causes of dysfunction, providing a pathway to lasting, personalised solutions.

Take the next step in mastering lower limb integration and empower your clients to move beyond their limitations..

MEET
RICCARDO GALEOTTI

Meet Riccardo Galeotti: Guiding Therapists to Transformative Client Care - I founded The Body Lab with a clear mission: to address the real mechanics of movement that traditional approaches often overlook. Early in my career, I saw firsthand how conventional therapies can fall short, often focusing on surface-level symptoms rather than addressing the root causes of pain and dysfunction. It became clear that understanding the intricate mechanics of the body—especially how bones, joints, and muscles work together in motion—was key to providing lasting relief and empowering clients to take control of their health.

Why Work with Me? - With over 18 years immersed in biomechanics, movement science, and Chinese Medicine, I’ve developed a unique framework known as clinical functional biomechanics. My journey includes 10 years studying gait and biomechanics in depth, 4 years of direct mentorship under Gary Ward—the visionary behind Anatomy in Motion—and a decade of experience mentoring and instructing fellow therapists in AiM. This extensive training has enabled me to create a practical, real-world approach that goes beyond textbook theory and into tangible results for both therapists and clients.

What Therapists Gain from My Workshops - My workshops aren’t just about acquiring new techniques—they’re about shifting how you understand and approach client care. Expect to: Enhance Client Satisfaction: By addressing the root causes of movement dysfunction, you’ll offer clients real, lasting improvements rather than temporary fixes. Refine Your Assessment Techniques: Learn to analyse and interpret movement patterns in a way that brings deeper insights and clarity to your practice. Build Confidence in Delivering Results: With my guidance, you’ll gain the confidence to provide treatments that make a tangible difference, equipping clients to prevent recurring issues and sustain long-term health.

A Practical, Client-Centered Approach to Biomechanics - Through my training, you’ll gain hands-on skills to transform your practice, from assessing gait to correcting complex movement patterns. My workshops are designed with practicality in mind: we dive into real-world applications and avoid abstract concepts, making it easy to start applying what you learn immediately.

A Learning Experience that Lasts - Embracing a new framework like clinical functional biomechanics takes commitment, which is why I ensure you have support at every step. With resources available before, during, and after each workshop, my goal is to make sure you walk away not only with new skills but with the tools to implement them effectively in your practice.

If you’re ready to go beyond temporary solutions and help clients achieve lasting, meaningful change, join me at The Body Lab. Together, we’ll redefine what’s possible in client care, one insightful step at a time.
